Down Syndrome

Today is World Down Syndrome day. The day chosen, 3/21, is significant because it represents the 3 copies of the 21st chromosome; the 3rd copy of the chromosome is unique to people with DS.

This year marks the 7th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day. What an awesome way to bring awareness about Down Syndrome to the public, which will hopefully increase understanding, compassion, and support throughout the nation.

The International Down Syndrome Coalition made this video to celebrate this year's WDSD. Just click the "play" button in the picture above to view the video. Be sure to share it with your kids-- teaching them love, compassion, and acceptance from a young age is vital to a healthy society. Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
